We’ll be making mobile-friendly versions of Shopfront available to all our customers in the very near future. There’s already big demand from our B2C customers but we think there are also great opportunities in the B2B market, particularly when combined with the power of QR codes. QR scanning apps are available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry – and it’s a native application in Windows phones. When QR codes are printed on packaging, customers can place a re-stocking order simply by scanning the last box on the shelf. Mobile will be part of our normal offering for new customers with the only costs being design changes to the standard template. For existing customers, there will be a small setup fee as well as any labour charges.
We‘re still weighing up the pros and cons of developing specific ‘apps’ but at the moment we’re not sure what advantages they have over our ‘free’ upgrade to mobile web. If you can think of some, we’d be delighted to hear from you….
